Making a decision can be extremely difficult for perfectionists.
Suzy Welch wrote a book called “10.10.10” which is a proven strategy that helps with difficult decisions. Essentially, all you do is ask yourself the question, ‘How will I feel about this decision in 10 days, 10 months and 10 years?’
Asking this is an excellent practice for perfectionists making it easier for them to let go, or to ‘hand over the reins’ and accept the help of others. When you ask this question, you often find the absolute importance you placed on the outcome, diminishes when it is placed within the context of time.
This practice is also useful for anyone facing difficult life choices, especially when they have information overload, helping them to clarify their decisions.
