Do you remember how in the Christmas story the Three Wise Men followed a star?
The Three Wise Men were Magi who brought precious gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh to the baby. In ancient times Magi were trained in herbs, potions, elixirs, healing, divination, and astrology. As initiates they received sacred teachings regarding the spiritual truths that lie behind all things.
No matter how you view the Christmas Story, all the people, objects and animals in it have alchemical significance. So, you may be wondering about the alchemical significance of the Three Wise Men (the Magi) and their gifts.
Scroll down for a lovely potent elixir to make your meditative process even stronger, inspired by the gifts brought by The Magi.
The Alchemical Symbolism Of The 3 Wise Men
The Christmas story guides us to metaphysical meditation and the transformation of consciousness. The gift of understanding The Metaphysics of Christmas and how it is a alchemical guidebook to our personal spiritual expansion and access of ‘higher realms’ of consciousness – is a delicious discovery.
When we recognise the symbolism carried in every element of the tale and how it represents an element of our own consciousness, we’re able to put together some pretty potent pieces of a Mystical puzzle – and then we can claim the gifts that they carry.
In the tale the Alchemical role of the Three Wise Men is as the representation of the three aspects of Mind – the Superconscious, the Conscious and the Subconscious – the three levels of Mind essential to our gnosis. The Three Magi remind us about how, when the three levels of Mind are one, unified, synthesised and focused in a single direction, and brought into balance, a new level of Consciousness can be born.
They represent the alchemical aspects of Mind that activate and participate in the invitation and arrival of the Divine Child
Representing the qualities of balance, synthesis, union, sharpness and mind in both the physical and non-physical world, they symbolise the precision and harmonising of mental functions that generates potent power.
The gifts they bring further symbolise the aspects of Mind and their harmonisation for greater Power.
Frankincense: Frankincense represents the positive masculine electrical charge of Conscious Mind and Will.
Myrrh: Myrrh represents the negative feminine electrical charge of the Subconscious Mind and Intuition.
Gold: Gold represents the Superconscious Mind of Source. Gold is highly conductive and the most efficient conductor of all forms of energy including electricity, with the capacity to move it at a much greater rate than anything else. This is important because gold represents free flow rather than resistance. If there’s less resistance in Consciousness, then Consciousness can be altered more easily.
The symbolism of these three substances, the gifts, indicates that when the positive (frankincense) and negative (myrrh) electrical charges of Consciousness merge and move through the field of energy at the Crown chakra (gold) during our Spiritual practice, higher, more refined, exalted levels of energy can then be generated.
As this merging occurs during our Spiritual and meditative practice, Self becomes exalted, and vibration raised. This then gives birth to the Christed Mind that exists within Soul and Source. This birthing of the Divine Mind gives us the alchemical capacity to alter our consciousness to become the Sovereign of our Reality.
How To Use The Gifts Of The Magi
While we associate the birth of Christ to a specific time of year, the birth of the Christed Mind is not limited by time constraints. Use this elixir in your meditative practice on any day of the year.
Before Meditating…
Place three drops of frankincense essential oil and 3 drops of myrrh essential oil on the palms of your hands and rub them together. Then place them in front of your face and breathe them in deeply before going into meditation.
They will merge the electrical hemispheres of your brain – the left with the right, the masculine with the feminine, the positive with the negative – and amplify the meditative process.
A lovely potent elixir to make your Spiritual process even stronger, at any time of the year. Give yourself longer in the Cradle of Peace.
