Does the Moon sing to you?
Do you feel a really strong Lunar connection?
Are you irresistibly drawn to sit out under the Full Moon drinking in the silvery light?
Many people feel a synchronicity with Lunar energy. For some that connection is strongest when the Moon is Full. For others it’s at New Moon when their intuition is at its strongest and clearest. For others it’s at the point of the Lunar Cycle that corresponds to the phase of the Moon at the time of their birth. But no matter which phase is most significant and powerful for you we are all tuned into Lunar energy to some degree, even if we’re not aware of it.
To help you align the actions you take in the world with the Lunar Cycle I’ve prepared this chart of the eight phases of the Moon. Use it to guide you to tap the energy of the Moon so you gain the most support for your intention and your action. The Eight Moon Phases
Our view of the moon from earth changes constantly, from the Dark, or New Moon when the Moon appears as the tiniest sliver or not at all, through the Full Moon and back again.
There are eight phases in the Moon cycle. The four primary phases are the New Moon, first quarter, Full Moon, and last quarter. The secondary phases are waxing crescent, waxing gibbous, waning crescent and waning gibbous. The term waxing refers to the time between New moon and Full Moon, when the Moon appears to be growing. The term waning refers to the time bewteen Full Moon and New Moon when it seems to be shrinking.
The Lunar Cycle begins with the Dark Moon, immediately followed by the New Moon which occurs in the hours following the exact point of Dark Moon. The cycle lasts for twenty-nine and a half days and is also known as a synodic month.
Generally, the first half of the cycle supports growth and the second half supports letting go.
