A lack of boundaries invites a lack of respect.

You can’t care for yourself properly when others walk all over you – or you’re always putting out for everyone else.

Boundaries are about honouring your needs, not about being nice.  So, you need to get very clear and firm about letting others know where you draw the line.  Get extra clear about the consequences of people stepping over your boundaries and stick to them.

If it helps you remain strong about keeping that line you’ve drawn, without apologising or relenting, write down for yourself what happens – how you respond – when your boundaries are violated.

Boundaries are an essential part of Conscious Self-Care, and developing and maintaining your boundaries means a happier and healthier you.
