I have a magic formula that guarantees you can stay grounded

and in control even when everything around you

seems to be falling apart.

Sound unbelieveable?

Well it’s not.  It’s all about knowing the ‘how’.

It will take some focus and work initially but once you master it,

it will become second-nature to you.

Sometimes it can feel as though we are being buffeted by the stormy waves of life. We begin to feel our life is out of control until it can seem almost impossible to reclaim.

However, there is one, yes just one, practice that we can be certain will always empower us to reclaim control. And that is to consciously hold awareness that we are Sovereign Beings and the Master of Our Own Destiny. If we do this we can always reclaim our power whenever we begin to waver.

When we reclaim our authentic power we can create with intention, and we can choose a life of Soul-Empowered Wellness.

The only thing we have any true control over in life is our inner world. And it is through our Inner World that we can be in control of the world outside ourselves.  Staying grounded in our authentic Sovereign Power opens us to intentionally direct our outer world. Because everything in our outer world is simply a mirror of our inner world.

I get it, believe me. I used to be the Queen of Out-Of-Control!

You see, I was juggling too much, until one day it all fell apart.  I had a successful holistic health practice, a wonderful big, noisy and full-on family, beautiful home and amazing partner, but on that day I realised I’d reached the ‘Enough!’ point.  It was then I knew I had to find a totally different way of doing things if I wanted to hold it all together.

Then I remembered that when I was in my teens, back before life filled up with responsibilities, I used to always be able to deal with things when life became too overwhelming.

So I made the decision to try and reclaim that skill I used to have back then.  But I had forgotten how I had managed it, all I knew was back then I’d been more in touch with my authentic power.

The Road Back

Like so much on life’s journey the road back was roundabout as I tried many techniques and teachings in my quest.  I started with Hatha Yoga, which helped a bit.  I talked to a therapist which helped some more.  I took homeopathic remedies which helped lots.  But I still hadn’t found that something that always carried me through the crisis and that supported me in between the overwhelm moments.

And then I had a breakthrough which was so simple it was almost hilarious.  It’s completely changed how I respond to craziness going on around me and it gives me an escape doorway to get out of a situation when someone is pressing my buttons.

This practice is really simple and it has a powerful influence on how we move through our life. But it takes focus and repetition to make is a strong cornerstone in how you engage with the world.

The key to control is to consciously hold the awareness that we are

Sovereign Beings and the Master of Our Own Destiny.

By maintaining this awareness of our self as a Master of our Own Destiny we can always reclaim our power whenever we begin to waver.

When we reclaim our authentic power we can create with intention and choose a life of Soul-Empowered Wellness.

As Within So Without

The only thing we have any true control over in life is our inner world.  And it is through our inner world that we can be in control of the world outside ourselves.  When we are grounded in our authentic Sovereign Power we can intentionally direct our outer world.  Because everything in our outer world is simply a mirror of our inner world.

What we experience in the outer world around us is a reflection of what is happening on the inside.  If our life experience is chaos it reflects a chaotic state within.  If we notice exploitation all around us it is mirroring a sense of powerlessness in our inner self.  This also means that lightness and joy in the world around us mirrors our internal feelings of joyfulness and peace.

In other words, we play an active role in how we experience our world, although we may not be doing it consciously.

When we allow our stories and old beliefs to rule the way in which we interact and respond to the world around us, our inner world exists in a perpetual state of turmoil and instability.  In that state we have no control over our emotions or our thoughts.  This can lead to us having no control in many areas of our life, such as relationships, health, career and more.  They reflect the inner state as turmoil and instability become normal in our experience of the world.

If we are to change this we must first make conscious change within.

Taking Control

When we make the decision to take control we can begin to notice far more than simply what is happening around us.  We also become fully aware of our emotional response and the self-talk that it leads to without becoming drawn into it.  As we open to this awareness we stop being unwittingly drawn into the drama of what’s happening.  As our awareness expands we can begin to take control and consciously direct our experience of the world around us.

However, when we become completely aware of how we respond to what’s happening around us and to us, we can actively shut down that old programmed reaction before it takes hold.  So at this point we begin to direct and change our experience of the world around us.

When we consistently make conscious choices we can halt that spiral into emotional drama and craft an environment where we can manifest in a powerful and stable manner.

Once we clear the way and reclaim our Sovereign Power we can create conscious choices about the person we wish to BE in the world, what we DO, that is the actions we take, and through that, what we HAVE.

Thoughts, Beliefs And Neurochemicals

Once we have claimed our Sovereign Power the way we respond to what happens, directs our ability to manifest consciously and sustainably.

This is not about attracting things to us but rather, knowing that what

we notice in our outer world reflects our inner experience.

When we are triggered emotionally our brain immediately releases chemicals that create the emotional feelings we experience such as anger, fear, sadness.  This then kicks us into the well-worn habitual stories we always tell ourselves over and over whenever we experience that feeling.

Some common stories are that we’re not good enough, we’re unloved, stupid, ugly, selfish.  They vary from one person to the next, but they are all rooted in a belief about our inadequacy and failure to measure up.  And when these start we once again become mired in the story.  It’s a bit like getting caught in quicksand as we sink deeper and deeper into how we believe we fall short.

The Key

And this is where the crucial key to gaining control lies!

That emotional storm that occurs when your brain releases the neurotransmittor chemicals as you are triggered emotionally, actually only lasts for seconds, anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute and a half.

But the feelings associated with this incident, that you’re a failure and someone
worthy only of derision, last much longer.  These feelings can go on for hours,
days or even years.

As I said at the start, the magic key of knowledge that can help you break this habitual response apart is simple.  Once the chemical release in your brain stops after a few seconds, any feelings that you continue to have are being created by your subconscious habitual beliefs.  The chemicals that created the feeling of fear, anger, sadness and more have stopped and are no longer responsible for the way you feel and what you’re thinking.

Which means you can stop these feelings and thoughts.

These negative beliefs are hangovers from ideas that were planted in your subconscious when you were too young to assess their value.  In fact they are often not related to the way you now think at all.  They come from the fears and beliefs of those who were around you as a child – parents, family, teachers, peers, media, society.

Once you begin to delve into them you often discover that the beliefs in which they are rooted seem crazy, and they simply don’t make sense to you.

The key is simply to consciously hold the knowledge that the emotional response only lasts a few seconds.  If it goes on after that then it is because you are actively holding the thought and allowing the story to play out. And you can make the CHOICE not to do that.

Don’t Be Ruled By Your Stories

All it takes to shut down the emotional turmoil is to remind yourself that your thought is only a story, one that has run its course and one that does not reflect your True Self.

Now this might sound overly simple.
And the magic of it is that yes, it is simple, and yes it works.

At first you will almost certainly find it takes some effort to hold off the old story. You may need to keep reminding yourself over and over that the story is not you in order to be able shut it off.

And initially you’ll probably find you slip into that emotional state brought about by retelling those old stories to yourself whenever your buttons get pressed.

And this is completely normal.

But all that will change quite quickly.  You’ll find that you catch yourself faster and faster as you begin to slip from the initial ‘neurochemical emotional response’ into the ‘habitual story emotional response’.   Eventually you’ll be able to pick it up almost immediately the process starts.

Plus, you’ll find you respond positively to your reminders to yourself that the stories are just not true for you, without slipping back into them.  You’ll be able to release the drama and move on immediately.

But as I say, this takes focus and a bit of practice.

When you first start to reclaim your Sovereign Power in this way the only thing you need to focus on is noticing when you have slipped into ‘storytime’ and then remind yourself that it’s not the truth.  You can say it out loud if that helps.

Your brain is adept at creating new neural pathways with repetition of any experience.  As you continue to do this practice, and become more adept at it, those new pathways that bypass the old stories will grow and strengthen until they become your go-to response.

Delve Deeper

I use and teach an excellent ritual that helps you to unravel and pull apart old beliefs so you can really get to what lies at their base.  At times I ended up in hilarious laughter at just how ridiculous the stories that lay right at the bottom of some of my beliefs were.

I’d love to share this ritual with you and instructions about how to do it are coming and will be available to you in this Category at a later date.
