Do you ever feel that when you set yourself wonderful, exciting, attainable goals you start off on the road to achieving them and all goes well – for a time. But inevitably you reach a point where you face a block and no matter what you do you can’t get past it. With regret you watch as your dream fades away in the distance.
Or perhaps you have a history of things falling apart time after time, just before you reach success.
If this sounds like the story of your life you may be caught up in the Upper Limit Glass Ceiling Effect. If you want to ever achieve your dreams, then it’s high time for you to break that ceiling.
The Upper Limit Glass Ceiling Effect
Our Upper Limit Glass Ceiling (or mental barrier) is a deeply formed subconscious limitation that we set in place way back when we were very young. It emerged from what we absorbed and integrated into our subconscious beliefs from family, school, peers, church, media, and everything else in the world around us. These beliefs reflect the fears and values of others. Rarely are they aligned with the beliefs and values we hold, or wish to hold, as adults.
As children these beliefs became entrenched in the way we think about ourselves, our world and those around us. They affect our capabilities, self-confidence and self-worth and lead to the creation of a barrier, or a ceiling, on what we are able to manifest by limiting our experiences and success. They can also lead to self-sabotage.
Because these powerful beliefs are firmly rooted in the subconscious we can’t shift them from the conscious level of our mind. However, one way we can shift these limiting thoughts is through ritual practices. Many practices and exercises work through conscious thought and engage only the conscious mind, so they have little impact on shifting beliefs buried in the subconscious. But ritual works on all levels of the mind, superconscious, conscious and subconscious at the same time, so it is an effective tool to shift these limitations.
The Shift Your Glass Ceiling Ritual
This is a powerful ritual and one that one I have personally used to effectively shift limiting beliefs buried deep in my subconscious. It is simple but must be followed exactly as described.
You may find, as I did, some of the beliefs that emerge are both ridiculous (they just don’t make any sense!) and amusing, once you move past the initial emotion they bring up.
This ritual will definitely take you deep below the surface so you can really generate the change you desire in your life.
Supplies
You will need:
✦ Large pillar type candle
✦ 10 to 14 pieces of blank brown paper about 15 centimetres (6 inches) by 15 centimetres square
✦ Black felt pen
✦Matches
✦ Small bowl which must be oven/ burn proof as you will use this to burn your paper
✦ Toilet or sink
✦ Journal
✦ Normal pen
Timing
This is a fairly simple but powerful ritual.
To be effective it needs to be repeated for at least nine consecutive days.
Sometimes you may find that this is not long enough. In this case continue the ritual for fourteen or twenty-one total days if you feel you need more time.
Do it around the same time each day.
Allow about 20 to 30 minutes.
Commitment is essential
Self-Care
Be kind to yourself as you do this process.
If any emotions or sensations arise, focus on them and allow the energy to release itself.
Cry, laugh, yell, move. Do whatever you need to focus and release.
Engage with the words as you write.
Preparation
Have all your supplies ready before you begin.
Perform the ritual in your sacred space.
You could bathe before the ceremony, but it’s not essential.
Breathe and Centre
Spend a few minutes grounding yourself through your breath.
Imagine you, and your heart centre are right at the centre of the universe.
Imagine yourself as a tree opening to Source, your branches and leaves reaching for the divine, while your roots anchor and ground you deeply with Mother Earth.
Intention and Initiate
When you are ready, light your candle and say:
“I am here to release any and all limitations that keep me from my highest good, for health, wealth, happiness and success. I am here to transform all that is false into that which is truth. I bless this process and call in my spiritual allies for support and guidance”.
Focus
Focus on one area of your life.
On one piece of brown paper write down all the limiting thoughts, feelings, memories, words, ideas, patterns, things you were told, worries, angers, shame, fears, anything that arises, about this area.
Do not edit, suppress or overthink.
Curse if you wish.
Write clearly and powerfully on both sides of the paper.
Don’t think about it, allow it to flow.
Engage with the words as you write.
Acknowledge
When both sides of the paper are filled, take a few moments to centre.
Read the words aloud, saying them into the candle.
Repeat all the words you’ve written over and over until you feel emotionally connected to the words.
As the energy builds, allow it to move and just exist.
You may notice many feelings. Don’t suppress or judge them, just allow them to rise and move on.
You may notice physical sensations. Allow them to be, until they subside naturally.
Balance
When it all settles again, offer blessings to fill the void that’s been created.
Speak as a loving parent would with whatever words, feelings and emotions come up, to support you in the future. Your Lower Self needs to hear these things from your Divine Self.
“I love you. You are so good. You are so special. You are so smart. It’s okay to be rich. It’s okay to be healthy. It’s okay to focus on you. It’s okay. It’s okay to be powerful. It’s okay to be loved” etc.
You may need to rock or hug yourself or cry.
Trust your body and allow whatever the process brings. It will soon settle, and peace and calm will take its place.
Release
When you feel settled and clearer place the paper in front of you with the side you wrote on first facing up to you.
Fold the paper exactly as described in the following instructions, and as you do, repeat the following words three times.
Instructions:
Fold paper in half away from you.
Then turn the paper to the left.
With the paper flat, fold the bottom of the paper away from you.
Rotate the paper to the left.
Then repeat twice (a total of three times)
As you fold repeat:
“I release this limitation and the conditions that caused it to my Highest Self.”
When you finish folding, hold the (small) paper and light it from the bottom.
Cast it into the fireproof bowl and as it begins to burn say three times:
“I release myself from the bondage of the past. I cast my limits and my feelings about those limits into the fire in the space of spontaneous awareness. Not even the name of the obstruction exists. Phet”
Phet is a decree that means ‘So it is. So I command. So it is done’.
Witness
When the paper stops burning, pour water over it and flush it down the toilet or the sink.
Take a few moments to observe the way your body feels.
Breathe in deeply a few times.
Then say “Thank you. It is done”.
Make a few notes in your journal but KEEP THEM BRIEF. A few words or a sentence is enough, as this is just a reference for later.
The Follow Up
In the days following:
Be gentle with yourself.
Don’t embark on any new projects.
Notice and make note of how you feel.
Be very conscious of the new Open Ceiling you are setting for yourself.
Allow a week or two to set to settle into the new frequency.
